Alaska is both a vast land and an unseen land. Thousands of miles of coast make it vast, and weather dangers leave most of it unseen by surfers. It holds a treasure of undiscovered breaks, and only in recent years have a handful of these been found.
Twenty years ago, a man I will refer to as ‘John’ pioneered a few portions of the Alaskan coastline. During one summer he set out solo and hiked through the wilderness along the coast in a number of different areas. Today much of it remains the same. Wild, raw, and untamed.
